271 East Shore Road, by Bob Kingston
The signpost (when it is standing) says Ahara because my grandfather, Vic Ahara, built the camp in 1953. My generation enjoys keeping this name on the post because Worthley Pond was so important to him and to our grandmother (as it is to us).
Middlesex Cottages, by Sue Sypher
Nettie Childs, who was originally from Maine and eventually married William Hill, moved to Worthley Pond where they opened a hotel called Middlesex Cottages. According to an article by Elva Oldham, Nettie and her husband weren’t the first owners of that property. In 1890, a camp was built there called Middlesex Camping Club.
